Tasks
Switchgear installation and servicing - Co-ordinate and manage site activities with project managers. Maintain a high level of staff discipline. Plan production and resources to obtain optimum usage and output, within scope of work and time allowed. Maintain tools in top condition and restrict vehicle use to a minimum. Project and Contracts Management - Ensure work is carried out according to project plans and resource schedules, scope of work; time allowed, and BOQ. Any deviations from this must be entered into site instruction book accurately and timeously, with customer signatures. All documentation (including test cert, site diaries, checklists, site instructions, completion certificates, and any other project required docs) must be complete and signed by the client where necessary, and up to date all the times. SHEQ - Ensure that Quality Standards, Health, safety and Environmental issues are adhered to at all times according to statutory requirements, directives and specifications.
Education
Min N4 Artisan (Preference will be given to candidates with Wireman's License or Master Electrician's License) Additional Requirements: Adequate Safety Courses and experience in order to be appointed as a responsible person.
Knowledge/Languages
Knowledge of MV and HV switchgear products especially in The Company's product range (including the other company owned brand names), including non company products OHS regulations and other safety, environment and health issues and statutory requirements Interpersonal skills between different parties especially with clients, communication skills An understanding of quality and quality management systems Project and time management skills (to deliver project on time, within budget and scope) Testing of MV and HV switchgear but not excluding faultfinding on protection circuits
Experience
Professional - Target and deadline driven, adherence to standards, ethics and best practice. Must have technical knowledge of installation and servicing of HV and MV switchgear Project / Process - Project Management, Site Management, Time management, Resource management, Customer Relations Leadership - Coordinating site activities with site personnel, clients, project management and staff minimizing problems and ensuring maximum efficiency. Intercultural - Liaising with all management and staff levels where required both internally and externally
