Senior Protection Engineer / Principal Engineer - SMD635
Goals/Mission
" Design and engineer energy automation solutions within the scope of E D EA Systems. Provide technical consultative and system engineering solutions / proposals to the clients in the field of energy automation systems.
" Conduct internal and external presentations and trainings and liaise with customers and technical project management.
" Guide and mentor the group of design and systems engeineers within E D EA.

Internal Contacts:
Department Managers and Staff of all Energy Divisions, especially E D and E T. Industry Sector (I&S, A&D), Business Development staff of HQ organization, E D Support Center Germany, technical and commercial staff of E EA Systems, project management engineers, commissioning engineers and sales coordinators.
External Contacts:
End clients (utilities and industrial customers), EPC contractors, OEMs, consultants and agents within the area of responsibility.
Tasks
" Secondary Equipment Design - Realisation of the Basic Design Concept to produce a functional design which uses existing standards and complies with the functional specifications for the project.
" Primary and Secondary Equipment Testing and Commissioning - Testing of the "as designed "and "as installed" systems to produce a fault free sytem, thereby ensuring that the equipment and engineering meet the project and functional requirements.
" Product Knowledge - ensure that product knowledge at a general level and specific level, is maintained and advanced to a high level throughout the engineering team.
" Quality Assurance - ensure that all Engineering work is done in accordance with company Quality Assurance standards and procedures. This includes compliance with the OHS Act requirements for safety standards.
" Documentation - Documenting of designs to provide an accurate and complete record of the engineering work at all stages of the project ( including the final "As Built"). The production and analysis of system design specifications, detailed design specifications and functional design specifications will be required.
" Knowledge Management - ensure the sharing of experience and know how via contributing to the knowledge management platform and assisting system engineers and system designers.
" Customer/ Aftersales Support - support customers and internal partners with technical queries, training and/or presentations on company equipment.
" Guiding, mentoring and supervising of junior engineers: Lead the team of design and system engineers, ensure advancement in knowledge and expertise, including technical training. Ensure continuity of adequate number of engineers required for the respective business needs (resource management).
" Support for Project Management - Ensure that project managers are kept up-to-date with progress of work, whereabouts of all engineering staff (including self) and cost incurred on projects arising from engineering work.
Education
" MSC in electrical engineering, preferrably Pr. Eng.
Knowledge/Languages
" Products / Systems in Energy Automation (esp. station automation)
" Competitor Products and Systems
" Computer literate, familiar with WNI XP and MS Office
" Electrical engineering disciplines (understanding of electrical circuits, standards and regulatory requirements) SICAM PAS, SIPROTEC. Medium / High Voltage Substations
" Team Skills

Experience
" 7 years working experience in system and detailed design, and commissioning methodologies
" 7 years experience in Project Design & Commissioning, project management including time & budget reviews. Co-ordinating design and commissioning activities with senior, junior design and commissioning staff as well as external parties
" Must be able and willing to work in multicultural environment, open to various different cultures and languages.
