Tender Manager - SMD667
The Manager of the Tender department will be responsible for all tenders produced by the Ed Factory. He will ensure technically and commercially that all tenders are produced accurately and complete. He will also ensure that the company tender process is complied with. The target of this function is to support the sales department in obtaining order intake to the factory in line with or exceeding our annual budget. This department must ensure that systems are in place to enable it to produce high volumes of tenders, that comply with the clients specifications, to ensure a satisfactory hit rate in excess of 12%

Tasks
1. Manage Tender Department to ensure that tenders are produced accurately and on time, implement processes and controls to ensure compliance. Maintain tender and reporting process. Report to factory manager monthly on tender volumes and hit rate. 30%
2. Train Tender engineers in the use of the quotation tools, and product knowledge, to ensure accurate cost effective tenders on time.10%
3. Personally do the Eskom national contracts. To ensure cost effective technical accurate quotations on time.10%
4. Assist in the negotiations with suppliers ( on big tenders) to ensure technically correct and cost effective, suppliers in so doing improving hit rate.10%
5. Manage tender department staff to ensure well trained motivated staff that adhere to company procedures.20%
6. Pre engineering of tenders and evaluation of tender document, to ensure compliance with customers requirements, and cost effective tenders.20%
Education
Engineering Btech or equivalent
Knowledge/Languages
1. Sound knowledge of medium voltage switchgear products.
2. Strong grasp of commercial terms and conditions. (Business acumen)
3. Nx Tools knowledge and application.
4. Good team player with communication skills.
5. Knowledge of protection and applications.
Experience
Professional
Have worked in a technical environment with switchgear and protection applications.
Project / Process
Have project/tendering experience.
Leadership
Must have being in a managerial position with reporting staff, in a technical environment.
Intercultural
Must be able to work in a multinational environment in a multinational company.

Additional Information
Switchgear/protection experience will be an advantage
